This paper used the disclosure decision-making model (DD-MM; Greene, 2009) to predict the factors influencing people's likelihood of disclosing personal or private information. Undergraduate students were recruited for the study. Variables included information valence, relational quality, anticipated response, disclosure efficacy, and likelihood of future disclosure. Structural equation modeling was performed to test the proposed model. Results supported many of the proposed hypotheses with some modifications. The article discusses the implications of the findings.
